Sr. Christine Plouffe
Before entering the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters, Christine lived in California for 8 years. She worked in the kitchen of the Santa Anna Community Hospital, under the direction of the hospital dietitian. That, coupled with her natural instincts, has made her one of the best cooks around. After her time at the hospital, she worked at the Hughes Aircraft Company in Fullerton, CA as a bindery worker. She then returned to Lewiston, Maine, where she recorded statistics at the Poland Spring Job Corps until the center closed. She finished her professional career as a bindery worker for Hood's Mailing Company in Lewiston, Maine
With entering the religious community and a change in lifestyle, religious education and pastoral ministry have become Sister Christine's focus. She has served as director of the RCIA in the Lewiston parishes since 2002. She has been both a Local Prioress and a Provincial Councilor for a few years, and spent a year volunteering in one of the poorest areas of Brazil. She currently takes care of the grounds and repairs at the Sabattus Convent. One of her hobbies is geneaology research and she is a volunteer at the Hospice House in Auburn. She is a people person who knows how to put on a party, and is a great fan of the New England Patriots.
